Soaking up film-inspired views of Croatia is about to become a whole lot easier as American Airlines has announced direct flights between the United States and Croatia starting this summer.
Are you dreaming of visiting the place where the Game of Thrones was filmed? Are you also dreaming of getting away to an exotic location? Croatia continues to top the European summer holiday lists for US travelers but currently, it requires a minimum of two flights to get there.
American Airlines will launch the first direct route between the US and Croatia in almost thirty years. The route will operate from June 7 between Philadelphia and Dubrovnik and will run three times a week until September 27. The last time a nonstop route operated between the US and Croatia was with a Pan Am four-weekly service from New York to Zagreb, which ceased in 1991.
Another nonstop service from North America is an Air Transat flight from Toronto to Zagreb beginning on May 14, flying once a week on Tuesdays, before flying twice weekly, Tuesdays and Sundays, from June 2 to October 8. They will then again have once-weekly flights from October 9 to 29. Starting on June 1 Air Canada will also operate flights from Toronto to Zagreb on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays and will operate until October.
